About this item
- Objective and Gameplay Overview – The objective of Picture Hunt is for players to race against each other to locate objects depicted on drawn cards and collect a total of 8 cards to win the game. Up to 6 players aged 6 and above can participate, making it a dynamic and inclusive group activity. This simple yet energetic setup promotes fun, competitive interaction while challenging players? attention to detail.
- Game Components and Setup – Picture Hunt includes several vibrant and interactive components: 7 hexagon-shaped game boards, 3 card decks (green Picture Deck, orange Dingus Object Deck, and blue Scavenger Hunt Deck), 24 Treasure Lock tokens (4 for each of 6 possible players), and two dice?one color and one number. During setup, the boards are laid out centrally, decks are shuffled and placed face down, and each player selects a color with corresponding tokens. Dice are kept accessible to all players.
- Dice Mechanics and Their Role – Each round begins with a player rolling two dice?a color die and a number die. The color die determines which deck to draw from (green for Picture, orange for Dingus Object, blue for Scavenger Hunt), while the number die adds complexity. If a 1?4 is rolled, it indicates how many items players must find, particularly for orange cards. Rolling a 5 or 6 means a player must either flip or rotate one of the boards, adding a strategic twist. For orange cards, if 5 or 6 is initially rolled, players reroll until they get 1?4 after modifying a board.
- Rules for Card Types and Player Actions – Each deck presents a different type of challenge: Green Picture cards require players to find an exact match of a single image; Orange Dingus Object cards require finding multiple instances of the same item (determined by the number die); and Blue Scavenger Hunt cards list four different objects players must find. Once a card is drawn and revealed, all players compete simultaneously. After one minute of observation, the player who drew the card announces ?Let?s Hunt!? and the round begins
- Winning Conditions and Solo Play Mode – Players race to place their Treasure Lock tokens on the correct images. Only one token can be placed per image, and once placed, it cannot be claimed by another. This ensures a fast-paced, competitive race requiring both speed and precision. To win Picture Hunt, a player must collect 8 cards by being the first to find the correct objects each round. In the event players wish to extend the game, they may choose to continue until all cards are played or stop at an agreed point, with the winner being the player who collected the most cards.
